Looks like I was able to use the Dell Command | Configure utility to fix the problem! For those wondering, this is what I did: I opened the utility, then sorted the functions by "name." I scrolled down to the functions starting with "k." Then I clicked the "edit" button at the top, and for the "kbdbacklighttimeoutac" and "kbdbacklighttimeoutatt" changed each setting to "5 seconds."

Once done, I clicked "validate," and then "EXPORT .EXE." Once I did that, I located and ran the executable file. The first time I attempted to run the file, Windows Defender blocked it from running. When it did, it gave me a pop-up in the lower right hand corner notifying me, which I clicked. I added the ".exe" to the exceptions list, and ran it again. Then everything was resolved.

Thank you to dell-robert p for your help with this issue.

Hi dell-robert p,

Thank you for your reply. I've previously tried the "Recommended Solution" listed there, as well as many of the previous solutions (such as attempting to use the QuickSet utility and the Windows Mobility Center). I will try the Dell Command | Configure and report back.

Thanks again.
