Max RAM on Precision 5530 with i5
Hello everyone!
Some time ago I had a problem with my Precision 5530 so I ordered a repair in the local service (official Dell partner). I've also asked them to replace RAM modules with 2 x 16GB, but a service engineer said that its not supported by 5530 with an i5 CPU.
So I just want to clarify, is it possible to install 32 GB of RAM on 5530 with i5? Which RAM modules I should buy?

This support page with the 5530 specs should clarify. The system maximum is 64 GB. That would be 32 GB in each slot, and again that is the maximum. The restriction on the i5 is for memory speed (2666) not memory total. So is 32 GB of total RAM supported, according to Dell's specs that would be yes. As for which RAM, I would try Crucial at this page. Their RAM has usually proven to be the most compatible. There is a conflict between Dell and Crucial inasmuch as Crucial states 32 GB maximum and Dell states 64 GB maximum. Now I am assuming you have the 5530 laptop and not the 2-in-1. The 2-in-1 maximum is 16 GB but the RAM modules cannot be removed in the 2-in-1.
