We are experiencing the exact same issue with our 7400's. We have updated all of the audio drivers to the latest versions, as well as ensured that the BIOS updates have occurred and still this issue occurs. Its specific to Zoom as Skype for Business and MS Teams do not experience the mic cutting out. Is there an official word from Dell that they are looking into the issue with perhaps the Audio Driver thats being pushed down as the potential culprit?
After an incredible amount of time trying to troubleshoot this I'm bizarrely getting 'access denied' on my own support thread
- Different support people have kept telling me to do the same things over and over, though you can see from the support thread that I've tried it
- Nothing has worked, problem still the same
- I keep explaining that the problem occurs once every hour or two so it takes a few days to test it, because of course I don't have hours and hours to devote to this, but I get messaged over and over asking for results as though I never said a word
- Now I get 'access denied' and I can't even start a new support request because it says the old one is still open
- I've always liked Dell but seriously this has been THE WORST, wasting such an incredible amount of my time and my *new laptop* still *doesn't work*, and after this seriously NEVER DELL EVER AGAIN

I have posted a test driver on the forum post. It may work or not . Let us know. The post will need to be approved before it will post. Please be patient.
