Model/Part Numbers Unique per Spec?
Hi there! Looking for help on Dell products in general. Are the DELL model/part numbers for notebooks, desktops, ...etc. unique in their configuration? This means what components are "universal" to a model/part number vs an "option" if you will within that model/part number. As an example, would I see the same model/part number for a DELL notebook with an i5-8500 proc, 8GBRAM, 256GB SSD, and screen resolution of 1900x1280 as I would if it was the same notebook but with a higher screen resolution? same would apply to touch/non-screen, web camera, ...etc. Trying to create "skus" for ecommerce activity but things like screen resolution, touch/non-touch, wifi, etc. are necessary to list the item but if Dell uses different part numbers for those things i could just use that as a sku reference point vs identifying all of the other specification fields one at a time. This would also apply to CTO builds for larger enterprises?

There are so many different numbers over the different sales channels, what you want to do is just about impossible. Some systems are sold only by specific retailers, and systems that are configure-to-order have too many permutations.
If you've a host of different systems, you're better off cataloging them by service tag.
