The new 12th generation XPS 15 (and 17) have been announced -- and while they have USB-C that supports DisplayPort, they do not have HDMI connectors.

The 12th generation full power "H" CPUs are due in mid-May.  After that you'll likely see a new XPS 15 model.

How many design changes such as restoring an HDMI connector remain to be seen, but given that the chassis design would need to be altered, coupled with the relative newness of the XPS 15 chassis and the fact that Dell kept the prior one around for multiple generations of CPU, mean it may be less than certain to happen.

The Thunderbolt ports can also be used with a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter cable in case Dell doesn't restore the HDMI port.

Actually the 12th gen H series has been here for a few weeks now, Alienware and Dell G laptops are already shipping with the i5 12500H and i7 12700/12800H. Go figure why there are no refreshed XPS models...

New xps 13 was announced with 12th gen cphs and slight change in design. Dont think that had hdmi input, it might be same for  xps15 most likely. At least they include the adapter to use hdmi.I personally dont use hdmi anymore Will receive my new xps tomorrow with 11th gen, i didnt wanna wait till mid year. I think oled screens will be different experience.

You have a system that's 16 years old - it's time to upgrade to something newer that can support more memory.

Newer browsers use more memory - and your system takes only up to 2G RAM.

My laptop is only 6-7 years old. It has 8GB of RAM. It does well with most tasks. The bluetooth is 4.1 and doesn't seem to work with new devices. The wifi is also a bit jaggy with my new router. Some of the keys are not very responsive. It's still a great laptop. I just feel that my needs might be better served with a newer and more powerful laptop.

BEWARE if you order a new Dell Laptop direct. Claim EXPRESS next day and a time provided.  Then everyone goes missing and no updates. Now weekend and no idea when this laptop will present.  Major disruption on my work for not buying competitive product.  Not impressed so far!

If it's just the keyboard and wireless card, you can replace both for well under $100 -- unless you need the newer system (or rely on it so want one under warranty/support), that may make economic sense to simply upgrade those.
