Portable Linux OS with external SSD
Hi, I'm trying to boot Linux OS from external hdd by USB. But It goes too slow and It stucks everytime after I log in my Linux user account. It remains desktop image without any other icons. So I read some stuff.. if I change RAID On to AHCI/NVMe could it goes faster?
Other things to know:
• I've disabled secure boot to run external hdd
• I'm running on XPS 13 2 in 1 (Windows 11 installed on internal hdd as primary)
• I'm using external case with a converter sata a to USB type B and then another adapter USB B to USB type C so plug in
• I'm booting using F12 Key the Linux OS runs but after I insert password It won't go on
• I don't want to install any other system on my primary disk I just want to use my ex hdd as a portable OS
If I change RAID On top AHCI/NVMe can I turn back just changing on BIOS setup:
- Turn on secure boot
- Switch AHCI/NVMe to RAID On
