The missing TPM issue
I've had this problem for a while - kicked off by an official bios update a few years ago.
I've tried the usual recommended solutions:
- unplugging, turning off the power, holding the power button for 30 seconds
- unplugging the battery, restarting
- several bios upgrades/downgrades.
I've been putting up with the problem - the computer works fine once I press OK on the "TPM missing" screen - but I was wondering if there are any other solutions to this problem, which seemed to have hit a few people.
My last option was to contact Dell service support - and maybe see if I can get a new motherboard. However, because the laptop is just over 5 years old they won't discuss it at all with me. What's the next step - if I get a new motherboard, is there a suggested/official dealer?
Or is there something I haven't tried yet?

Assuming a reset hasn't worked, replacing the board should. However, realize that a system of five years' age may not be worth the cost of a board -- and you won't find any "new" boards; they'll all be refurbished and of similar vintage to the system.
Unless you really need a feature the system has but that a new system will not, it's almost certainly going to be a better idea to replace rather than repair a five year old system (especially considering that anything that age won't support Windows 11).
