Uninstalling Mcafee Preinstalled With XPS 15 9520?

The first thing I noticed after setting up the new xps 15 9520 is mcafee anti virus.  I do not want it.

Can I just add/remove programs and it removes it 100&?  Someone I heard said mcafee doesn't uninstall itself 100% and you should use revo uninstaller to remove it fully.  Anyone know if that is true or not?  I have no use of mcafee and do not want it on my computer.  Rather use the windows defender that comes along with it.

Can someone tell me if you just add/removing it would remove it 100%?  How would i know it is fully removed though?

Right.

I always uninstall McAfee, and then use Windows Security.

I just uninstall McAfee from (legacy) Control-Panel/Programs and Features.

After it finishes ... restart/reboot. Seems to work fine.

Then, I go into Windows Security and double-check all the features I want are Enabled.

Hi.  Do you use windows 10 or 11?  And pro or home?

What do you mean by removing from legacy?  I am not sure what you mean by that?  You mean that method of program and features... as opposed to just add/remove programs?  So there are 2 ways to remove programs then?  So the add/remove programs is not as good?

1. My XPS-15 (9520) is running Windows-11 Pro

2. I use Control-Panel / Programs and Features when possible.

3. Correct. There is a place in Control-Panel and a place in Settings.

4. I did not say that. Either should work if the Program or App is listed there.

I removed mcafee with the method you suggested.  Then restart laptop.  I also see another program called Webadvsior by mcafee.  I assume remove that as well then right?

Right now it seems windows defender is my antivirus program now.
