Update my XPS 9550 BIOS without Windows
Hi,
I've been using my XPS 15 (9550) for the last two years and I'm currently only using Debian as OS on my machine. I wanted to update my BIOS but the only installer on Dell website are for Windows. Do you happen to know if I can find somewhere safe the files to use a flash USB or some Linux UEFI Capsule thing?
Thanks for the help,
Best regards

Thank you for your message. I am afraid, this system is only tested for Windows & there are no official drivers/ BIOS available for other OS.

No. There is another OS supported besides Windows. It's called DOS.
Per BIOS Update instructions, create a bootable USB stick with DOS on it. DOS versions are freely available. Do unix equivalent of something like Rufus and FreeDOS. Or maybe sudo mkdosfs -F 32 -I /dev/sdX
I'd google someone who's done it and do what they did...

Or, you could follow Dell's Knowledge Base article "Updating the Dell BIOS in Linux and Ubuntu Environments".
