XPS 13 9370, USB Type-C to A adapter, Linux boot USB

Hi,

I created a bootable usb key with the elementary linux distribution on it with Rufus with the following guidelines on Windows : https://elementary.io/en/docs/installation#choose-operating-system

I also bought a USB type A to type C adapter to plug my usb key in order to boot on it.

However when I go into the startup menu with F12, I don't see any usb key showing up even if the built-in led blinked.

I am in legacy bios boot, secure boot disabled and tried setting the options as described here in the BIOS : https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/fr-ca/000131221/how-to-boot-to-an-external-device-using-usb-type-c-connection?lang=en

This has something to do with the usb c connection because I tested the bootable key on another laptop with regular usb type A and it worked.

What do you recommend?

Thanks

Thank you for your time. We see that the XPS 13 9370 shipped from Dell on January 14, 2018 with Windows 10 and you are trying to install Linux. In this case our support scope is limited. As an alternative to check, you can try to create a Windows bootable drive and see if that works using the USB Type-C to A adapter.
