XPS 13-9370, Windows 10, cannot run online diagnostics?

Sorry, the message seems empty after posting it. Here it is again the simple text and one screenshot: I'm not able to run diagnostics on my XPS 13 9370 under Windows 10. Here the message I get.

Please, what am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Why do you need to run diagnostics? Explain the problem you're having. Dell Diagnostics

It is not clear to me if I can see the messages I'm sending. My first post contents both: text and an image. The image contains just the message I get:

Diagnostics cannot be run on the device you're using. The diagnostic application works only on PCs running Windows 10, Windows 8.1, or Windows 7.

I'm running Windows 10.

Thanks!

One more tip: the update that fails to update is Systema BIOS 1.9.0. published on April 13th, 2019. Thanks!

Well... I want to run diagnostics to see... what diagnostics tell me about the functioning of this small giant! I've run them before now without a glitch, but it is weird to be offered with a tool and that this tool tells you that you cannot run diagnostic because they are created for several flavours of Windows, among them, the one I'm running!

Yes, I'm running diagnostics from the Dell Support website. For my XPS Service Tag, this is the URL...

So far, the only annoying issue I'm facing is a failure in the wake up after sleeping. This happens only once after shutting down: when the system goes to sleep, it fails to recover once going from the screen with the Dell logo to a black screen. Then, you have to force the restart. Next time the computer recovers perfectly about sleeping. I'm clueless about what could be happening here, but this happens always following this pattern.

Concerning Dell Update, I keep receiving a message about a pending critical update that always fails.

These details make me think about running diagnostics to check if this tool finds anything I'm not able to identify. I guess this is a logical approach to troubleshooting by using all tools Dell provides us.

Any insight will be welcome! Thanks!

BTW: I'm really happy with this box! :Geeked:

Have a similar problem with online diagnostics on my Precision 7720 Mobile workstation. Seems to have started after applying BIOS 1.14.1 which only partly succeeded.

BIOS itself was updated from 1.13 but part way through the ME firmware update component failed and now have following message after POST appearing for several seconds at each cold boot:

Error sending End of Post message to ME: HECI disabled, proceeding with boot

Since that time, I cannot use the online diagnostics with the same silly message as you despite using 64bit Win10.

I also had the same problems with Dell's Optimizer as you but resolved that one by completely uninstalling this app and reinstalling the latest version - Updating the old version without a full uninstall did NOT work as it carried over the persistent updates that would not install

Hope this helps

Thanks for the information! I've no record of failed updates here. The BIOS of my XPS 13 9370 reads release 1.9.0, the system is fully updated and local versions of Commad|Update and SupportAssist word fine to the best of my current understanding. No error messages at startup. The only thing failing now if the online diagnose system. I'll keep an eye on this. Please, do you know where error messages caused by online negotiation with the server could be stored? Thanks!

I have been experiencing the same issue. I decided to uninstall the Support Assist Software, including all of the updates/plugins associated with Support Assist, and install a fresh version of it from Dell's support website. After the install completed, I was able to run diagnostics. Let me know if my input was any help.

Thanks! I've recently tried the new online tests, and they worked without a glitch! Also, both desktop SupportAssist for PCs and Desktop Command | Update do their job without any issue! Thus, I'm a happy XPS user right now, concentrating on hard work and intensive use of this lovely device, always in my backpack! Dell does keep improving! Here you have a new loyal client! Cheers!
