XPS 13 9380, Problem with Dual Monitors

Hello,

I got a 9380 about 6 months ago and I'm having nothing but trouble getting them to work flawlessly with my 2 x Dell U2715H monitors.. I'm connecting my Dell XPS via a TB16 dock via TB3 to DP and then daisy chaining to the other monitor.

After about 1 hours of use the screens continually flicker and become unusable.  To resolve the issue I have to disconnect the monitor in the control panel and re-enable.. again its fine for another hour or so.

I have all bios updates, firmware updates, driver updates and it just continually occurs.  It works perfectly fine using my MacBook and my previous 9370.  If I take the TB16 out of the loop and plug directly into the USB-C on my laptop I still get the same problem.

Proper frustrating...

@Jeani.001  whoever told you that the Dell DA300 was incompatible with the XPS 13 9380 was completely incorrect.  The DA300 just requires a system that has a USB-C port that supports video output and USB 3.x, which the XPS 13's USB-C ports do.  Whoever said that was probably basing that off the system compatibility list on the DA300's product page, but it's well known that Dell and other companies do not always list every single system that would work with that product.  Sometimes they don't list older systems because they only test so far back, and often they won't update that list as newer systems are released.  But unfortunately sometimes Dell Support reps will only ever go by that list.  That's partly understandable since there will of course be times when a certain system isn't listed on an accessory's page because that system is NOT in fact compatible with that accessory, and in those cases Dell reps won't always have the deeper technical understanding to be able to assess compatibility on their own to determine WHY a system is missing from that list, but that doesn't mean that they're right to claim incompatibility here.  I've successfully used a DA300 with a Lenovo ThinkPad and it worked perfectly, even though obviously that system wouldn't be listed on Dell's product page.

All that said, based on the responses in this thread, it does appear that there may be an issue specifically with the XPS 13 9380 that's affecting its operation with the DA300 and some other scenarios, but that would be due to an issue with the system, not a basic incompatibility between that system and that peripheral.

Further frustration with the Dell support service....

After spending 2 months going round in circles with Tech Support todays resolution for the fix to my issue from Tech Support is...……… Re-install Windows.. SMH.

I cannot believe how Dell Support can say a reinstall of Windows will resolve this issue - even if it is, I have advised them early on in the ticket process that a reinstall of windows was done with no resolution.

I am finding their service extremely frustrating and inadequate now!

I'm going through this very same problem. When I connect my XPS 9380 to two screens, the mouse starts to lag. I initially thought my mouse was faulty or that it could be the battery, but after doing several tests I'm now realising that the problem is related to the graphic card!
