XPS 15 0750 errors (I THINK CPU)
Hello everyone. I'm having problems with my xps 15 since long time ago.
(Xps 15 9570 with intel I7 8750h, base clock 2.2ghz, with TurbobBoost up to 4.1ghz)
It all started with glitches and artifacts on the screen, and errors when rendering photos, so I watched that temperatures were always high and it was thermal throttling all the time, so I decided to repast the CPU and GPU. It lowered down the temperature a few degrees but still always too hot. So I undervolted and limited the turbo with throttlestop and these are the basic results. SupportAssist CPU Test results.
*TurboBoost disabled in bios, Throttlestop off: everything works fine, SupportAssist CPU test pass (too slow of course) (NOT HOT)
*TurboBoost enabled in bios, Throttlestop off: Thermalthrottle really fast, artifacts and glitches on screen, SupportAssist CPU test Fails. Code: Load test - WCP14-QIU (HOT) *TurboBoost enabled in bios, Throttlestop on, turbo limited to x26 (2600Mhz) everything works fine, SupportAssist CPU test pass. (NOT HOT) *TurboBoost enabled in Bios, Throttlestop on, turbo limited to x27 (2700Mhz) works fine, no visible artifacts but SupportAssist CPU test fails. Code: Load test - WCP14-QIU (NOT HOT)
*TurboBoost enabled in Bios, Throttlestop on, turbo limited to x37 (3700Mhz) artifacts and glitches on screen, SupportAssist CPU test Fails. Code: Load test - WCP14-QIU
Dell diagnosis Test Pre Boot: all tests PASSED
Intel processor diagnostic tool test PASSED
Other errors on Support Assist tests on windows 10.
Hardware analisis - BSOD - FAILD - - CPU - CODE ERROR - Test SSE4.1 - WCP10-BWC
Hardware analisis (Manual) - COMPLETE - FAILD - - CPU - CODE ERROR - Test de SSSE3 - WCP13-T71
Error de pantalla azul - noviembre (BSOD) Código de comprobación de error 0x000000ef
Parámetros de comprobación de error 0xffff800ba44dd080, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000
The glitches, artifacts and errors are there even if cpu and gpu are not hot I ran the tests many many many times and always with the same results. When the clock passes 2600mhz it starts to fail with no visible failures, but if it goes faster I start seeing artifacts all over the screen on photos, videos, youtube, etc…
I have my dxdiag file, Intel processor diagnostic tool file, a pic of how photos are rendered (I’m a photographer)
I think my CPU is damaged, But I would like to know what do you think and if there is any solution.
Thank you

Best would be to run the diagnostics outside of WIndows - press F12 a few times to get in. If any error codes arise, post them by number (2000-0133, etc.).
If the CPU or GPU is failing, the only solution is a replacement system board (to which the CPU and GPU are soldered).

This are 3 pictures of the PRE BOOT DIAGNOSIS
I did it about 10 times. Sometimes everything is ok and sometimes I get one of this 2 errors
2000-0511 and
2000-0333 (which I understand it was due to I didn't click yes when it asked If I saw the colors)
Some times I also got the BSOD with error "IRQL_NO_LESS_OR_EQUAL"
And sometime the BSOD with error "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED" (I don't have a pic now)

This is the replacement part you'll need:

The GPU fan has either failed -- or the temperature sensor has. Hopefully it's the fan, which is inexpensive to replace.
If that doesn't clear the error, the temperature sensor is bad -- for that, you'll need to replace the system board.

Hello.
Thanks again for your answer.
Is there any way to check if the fan is working properly before buying it?
(I don't have any problem buying it and testing, but I live on an island in French Polynesia, so it's very hard to order it, it will take months to arrive, if it arrives jaja)
Do you think the errors from DellSupportAssist are due to the same thing ? (SSE4.1 - WCP10-BWC and SSSE3 - WCP13-T71)
Thank you

If you've never cleaned the system internally (remove all dust from the heatsink and fan), try that first.

I'm not sure if fans are not working properly.
This is the fan info from HWinfo using a GPU stress test, and even gaming for 5 minutes
So it went up to 5100rpm. Is that ok?
Also looks like the sensors are reading well.

Hello @ejn63.
I already cleaned everything when I repasted cpu and gpu.
ANYWAYS,
About fans, apparently they work fine and, why would a fan issue can cause the errors, artifacts, glitches or the reapeted BSOD.?
THANK YOU

It is, but if you're seeing intermittent diagnostic errors, chances are the fan is failing.

I downgraded the Bios..
Now the video fan error is not showing anymore But I still have some random artifacts and glitches when the cpu is running faster than 2800mhz.
