XPS 15-7590, Killer Wireless 1650, WiFi issues
I am facing WiFi issues with my newly bought XPS 15 7590 and the Killer Wireless 1650 WiFi card. Installing latest Windows 10 and Dell Updates, replacing Dell WiFi Drivers by Killer Drivers (Aug 2nd) did not fix the problems.
On some WiFi I only can connect, if I disable ac/ax in the card driver properties or set the 2.4 GHz to 802.11b or 802.11g (Otherwise Windows keeps prompting for WPA key, even if it is correct). On others the connection frequently drops for 1-2 seconds and then reconnects, even if I am just browsing (no heavy load on the card).
Did someone also encounter such WiFi issues with this hardware? (And probably already has as solution, besides replacing it with an Intel WiFi card?)
Thanks,
Irgi

Hi Norm,
Did uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers helps resolve the issue? Also, did you submit a ticket with Killer to have the issue sorted?
Do let me know if you need further assistance and I will be glad to help you out.
Regards,
Mellisa.

I have had similar issues with my XPS 7590 using the Killer AX1650 WiFi card.
The WiFi connection dropped after 10-20 minutes or after I put my laptop to sleep and I needed to reconnect manually. I then updated the wireless card driver to the latest version (21.50.1.1 - 10/6/2019) and performed a fresh install of the Killer Suite as recommended in this posts https://www.dell.com/community/XPS/XPS-15-7590-disconnecting-Wifi/m-p/7371421#M34311
After the update, the problem aggravated and now I get the message "can't connect to this network". I contacted killer directly and the support was awfull; I sent them a detailed description of the issue, installed the diagnostic tool, and created a ticket. They just replied with a generic link to a thread that I already visited.
I have used and recommended Dell laptops for the last 10 years. Normally, using the cheapest version of Inspiron, which was very reliable. I purchased my XPS thinking that it would be an upgrade, but instead, it has been a great headache. I am not sure how Dell arranges its vendors, but I was expecting the highest quality from the XPS line, not this constant burden to connect to a wireless network. My phone is way older and simpler than my XPS but can connect to any WiFi without a problem.
I have tried to solve the problem for the last month. This experience is very frustrating; it has been a waste of time to try to fix this issue.

Sure!
Have you tried uninstalling the Killer wireless drivers completely? If no, uninstall it and install it from here:
https://dell.to/2D9YhSB
https://dell.to/348MuQA
You could use the Killer uninstaller. Here is the link for the same: https://dell.to/2D4kbqz
You may use it to uninstall the earlier drivers and restart the system before reinstalling the drivers.

Hi, Please do not close this case.
I have followed all of the instructions and still am having an issue. Is there a way to just install the intel driver and get rid of the killer stuff? I just bought a i9 7590 and this has to be the worst experience that I have had. I find it very frustrating that everyone keeps suggesting to download more things to "fix" the issue. I am unable to download as the internet is so slow it is unusable. I used to get faster speeds with dial up. I am ready to return this computer because of this issue. I will not buy anything else to "fix" this brand new computer that does not work.
Thanks,
Jay

Same problem here. Bought the XPS yesterday, spent 2 evenings trying to sort the faulty WiFi to no success.
I have flashed BIOS, updated drivers, deleted drives, reinstalled drivers, nuked drivers anddid a clean install. No success, 5 Ghz wifi issues are still here.
WIFI drops mostly under heavy load (download speeds > 10 MB/s) and only when connected to a 5Ghz wifi.
I noticed that:
- 2,4 Ghz wifi works perfectly fine.
- 5 Ghz wifi drops connection under heavy load after 10-30 seconds;
- 5 Ghz wifi drops connection under low to medium load after up to few minutes;
- my secondary Asus laptop as well as iPad are connected to 5 Ghz wifi at the same time with no issues;
- no known posted online solutions are helpful, I tried with different router/wifi card settings with no success.
I am nearly done. I am thinking of sending the XPS back and going for Lenovo X1 Extreme 2 instead.
Its ridiculous that buying a laptop for over 2k USD has ended with a bizzare out-of-the-box experience.

I have figured out the solution myself. In a nutshell - nuke KillerNetworking drivers and software and instead install old regular intel drivers. 5Ghz wifi connection is now stable and fast.

Same WiFi drop out slow speed issues
new XPS
I have 2 other Dell laptops and no WiFi issues so it is NOT a local WiFi issue.
Other 2 Dells are running at 2 X’s The XPS unit
This is a brand new laptop and I should not have to do ANY tech to get the system performing
HELP

Are you able to return the computer? I do not think Dell will accept the return. They only provide ways to fix the problem. I also want to return my computer and I swear I will never buy any Dell product.

why do I have to do this??
This is a $1500 laptop and I should not have to provide tech support
The speed of the WIFI is unacceptable
