XPS 15 9500 Bluetooth Issue

The Bluetooth earphones (Apple AirPods) connect fine but the sound is choppy.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Similar problem here.

Sony WH-1000XM3. Connects fine, but sound is choppy from time to time.

Also range is super short. Around 1 meter before losing signal.

Update: Have been using the headset more today and the problem evolves. Today the connection cuts out every now and then. System changes back to system speakers before it reconnects to the headset 10-15 seconds later. Very annoying to say the least.

Also, let me mention that this headset is used everyday on both my phone and a different computer without a single hickup. So the problem must be the XPS.

Having the same issue with bluetooth being choppy using Bose NC 700.

Same issue. Choppy audio and very short range make BT connection to my speakers useless. Other bluetooth peripherals (xbox controllers, mouse) seem to work fine. I have the new xps 9500 with updated drivers.

Oddly enough, I had the very same experience with my last dell XPS 9550. Updated drivers and everything else but BT audio was worthless - choppy and inconsistent. On that PC i upgraded the wifi/bt module to a top-shelf ax200 unit with BT 5.1 and it made no difference. Not sure where the issue lies....I expected this new PC to be different but same problem. It's pretty frustrating since i like to stream music while I work.

Hi. Did you solve the issue? I have the same issue with my Sony WH-1000XM3.

Also I have a Bluetooth mouse and quite often it works with lags. It seems to me like this issue started to happen after one of the drivers having been updated. Looks like the radio signal is too weak.

Checked the mouse (TECKNET BM308) and headset (Sony WH-1000XM3) with my another laptop Asus UX303LN and everything works well

With my Dell XPS 15 9500 Bennet shows the strength of signal (-69dB) and it was when I was sitting no further than half a meter from the laptop.

Eventually I've found that this issue was connected with USB3 devices.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-hardware/sudden-bad-bluetooth-signal-strength/ab00d20a-318e-47b9-ac14-95f644433ca9

I unplugged my external displays (I use two usb-hdmi converters) and the headset started to work fine.

I reorganized my workspace according to advice here https://www.bluetoothandusb3.com/ and it seems to have helped.

Hey guys, i've had the same problems you describe after a mainboard switch on my dell xps 9500:

The issue was, that after the mainboardreplacement the cables on my bluetoothcard wasn't fixed properly. I had to fix 1 cable by turning the screw and put off the top of the card to refix the cables - the problem was solved.

check this photo in the red box: the cables were not plugged in propperly.

I opened my casing up, located the bluetooth receiver and found one of the wires was off - the protector plate over it was holding it down just enough to make slight contact. Reconnected it and my bluetooth is perfect now!
