XPS 15 9500 PC-Doctor module is a resource hog

Just recently, PC-Doctor has become a resource hog and is monopolizing CPU and draining the battery.  Here's a shot from Task Manager. It's been going on for about ten minutes now, and the system is nearly unresponsive.  This is Dell's software.  I'm reporting it here in case others are seeing the same thing.

PC Doctor Module service is what Hardware Test of Supportassist uses

Option 1 : If you can live without support Uninstall Support Assist

Options 2 : Open SupportAssist and click on Gear on top right . Turn off scheduled scans or set a time when you will not be using the computer, Mine is set after 10 pm everyday

Hold down the Windows Key, then tap the letter "S", next type Services and press Enter. In the list of Services, look for Dell Support Assist and Dell Support Assist Remediation. For each service, double click, then change the Startup from Automatic to Manual. Afterward, reboot your system.

Alternatively you can perform the same for any other Dell related services, but you have to be cautious.
