Here are a few possible ideas:

  1. It could be that you have a defective touchpad.  I've heard that some early 9500 touchpads were defective.  If yours is loose/wobbly/clunky, you might want to contact Dell for a replacement.
  2. There are some reports of the XBox and/or Geforce Experience apps causing mouse pointer lag.  You could try uninstalling these apps or adjusting settings as described in #2 and #3 here:

  3. The palm of your hand might be brushing the touchpad and causing extra click events.  If this is the problem, you might try adjusting settings as described in this response:
