Okay Rusty, I've checked with the Level 3 technicians and they're telling me now that this is a normal situation. With Windows 10 version 1809 and above, it is now a two touch process and is functioning as designed. Hope this clears things up for you.
Thanks! I received a message from tech support yesterday asking me to check the TPM settings in the BIOS making sure they were enabled. They are enabled but still no automatic login when hitting the power button.
So is the laptop supposed to log you in automatically when booting and using the power button/fingerprint sensor???
I don't seem to have that software or driver installed on my computer. I also tried to locate both the Control Point Security Manager Software and Driver under my computer's service tag but there is no such listing. Still nothing when I turn off "Show drivers for Service Tag C0HM6S2"
Please uninstall and reinstall that. I see that it supports Windows 10, version 1809, so if you are running 1903, you may have to wait until they release a newer driver for that version.
Thanks. I also found several Goodix Fingerprint Drivers on the Microsoft Update Catalog page that supports Windows 10 1903 - the version I have. These are about 9 months newer too. Will give them all a try and see if it helps out.
I could not get any of the new drivers to load. Did a complete clean install of Windows 10 and set up my fingerprint reader again. Same as before. Only logs me in when I touch the power button again after booting. Any other ideas??? Its really strange.
Hello, Since we haven't heard from you, we will be closing the case for now. Should you need further help or assistance, feel free to reach out to us again. We do hope that this matter was resolved. Kind regards.

Ok, thanks for the update. Yes, the laptop should boot straight to the desktop with one kepress.
In order to figure out if this is a hardware or a software issue, we need to continue troubleshooting.
Have you tried clearing and enrolling a new fingerprint?
If that doesn't work, then
Reinstall drivers and software
1) Remove Control Point Security Manager Software.
2) Remove Control Point Security Manager Driver.
3) Leave any other Control Point components
Install:
4) Re-install the Security Driver First.
5) Then Re-install the Security Software after.

Hi Rusty,
For your particular system, I see that you have a different fingerprint reader than what the instructions I was following showed.
Your system has the Goodix fingerprint reader, so here's that link: https://dell.to/2HtfuJv
Please uninstall and reinstall that. I see that it supports Windows 10, version 1809, so if you are running 1903, you may have to wait until they release a newer driver for that version.
