DumbDale,

You can click the link below for google searches on how to use the webcam. You would need to use Windows 10 Camera App to make Black and White options.

This is beyond unhelpful. There are no Windows 10 camera settings for color balance etc.

Agreed, how can this really be the response from Dell... "Google search: webcam settings windows 10" This does not result in directions on how to control the integrated webcam on a dell XPS 15. I'm having the same problem, but with a Precision 5520; the same laptop but with a Quadro GPU. Can we please have a meaningful answer? If the truth is that there simply is no camera control, just say so. At least I wouldn't be wasting my time trying to find what surely should exist.

Anybody else from Dell want to chime in?  I purchased a new XPS recently and there still doesn't seem to be any controls to adjust the integrated camera.   In this day and age where we are forced to use the camera for work-related meetings, you would think there would be some functionality built into the drivers to facilitate some degree of adjustment. especially considering what Dell is charging for this model.

I'm also trying to figure out how can I manage these settings. My camera keeps changing the contrast while I'm in the middle of meetings, making me go from completely washed out (to the point where my hair and skin look like the same color) to explosive pops of color. It would be great if someone from Dell can help us find a way to adjust these settings because the way this is coming out of the factory is not ideal at all.

On most Windows computers the webcam is controlled by USB, even on laptops. Any given application is then able to adjust the parameters that the camera exposes over USB. If your particular application doesn't give you those options, then you could always use OBS. OBS has those parameters exposed and you can then create a virtual webcam to be used in the application of your choice.

Same problem here. Asked Dell to address it. They updated drivers and Bios. No help. Gave me statements about how cameras are different. Said he would investigate. Response is to reload Windows, if that doesn't wirk replace camera or if that doesn't fux it, replace cimputer. Then mentioned Dell Webcam Manager app.. which is akso called Webcam Central. Installed it. Has color controls but all are greyed out. Useless. Microsoft has complete control over webcam and provides almost no adjustmemts. So, Dell passes the problem onto customer and the Microsoft W10 OS. Next will investigate Microsoft but expect nothing.

Hi Jesse,

Might you have an idea why for my XPS 13 9310 webcam has moved to Black and White mode or should I say that colours has disappeared. It's quite funny that from my side nothing have been changed and laptop is always updated with latest updates. Also, anywhere in settings I'm not able to change that colours would appear.

It's so funny when you pay for a laptop this money and part of functions doesn't work and no way how to make changes on settings.
