worst laptop purchase ever made. And dell only gives you a 21 day return policy from invoice so by the time you get it, you only have a few days to test it out. Overall there ability to rectify the issue was crap. I will never buy from dell again and make sure to let everyone know of there shady return policy and poor craft in making laptops
I am as you, suffering from this horrible computer.
It was around 3000$ but my old XPS from 5 years back works BETTER than this piece of . Same as you, a backend developer, need the speed and quality of a normal working PC and not getting stuck every zoom chat I do!
I had the same issues before, with the screen flickering, overheated laptop, bluetooth choppy audio, colour accuracy thing etc. I did sfc/scannow in Command Prompt and it fixed everything for me. I had no problems with this laptop ever since...
Good Day. I have not heard back from you yet since our last interaction. Do reach out to us at your convenience with the requested information so that we can assist you with your Dell system, until then we shall be temporarily archiving the case at our end. ^MP
The issue is explained above + all over the internet.
1. Wifi connectivity problems a couple times a day
2. Half monitor flickering
3. Freezes randomly 50+ times a day for seconds.
4. Freezes randomly for 1-2 times a day for 10+ seconds.
5. When in a share-screen state(skype, zoom or whatever), freezes each keystroke.
I mean, 32gb, and more, and still none stop problems. I moved using my old XPS (from 5+ years ago) because xps 7590 is bugged, broken machine(for everyone as I see it).
Thank you for providing the information. I understand you should have already tried the updates on the system. However, I would request you to try the following steps.
HELLO I HAVE YOUR SAME PROBLEM. AT THIS MOMENT MY COMPUTER IS IN SERVICE BUT FOR THE SECOND TIME THE MOTHERBOARD AND THE SSD HAVE CHANGED (UNNECESSARY). HAVE YOU SOLVED THE PROBLEM OR EVEN YOU WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE POSSIBILITY OF RETURNING THE COMPUTER / REPLACING IT?
but this is a brand new laptop and i had the problems since first day i buy..
they dont replace the device, they dont answer "next day".
they dont take the laptop and refund ..
the usa support is awful, the guys at there dont understand anything..
you are telling apple, they understand banana.. and giving solution for banana..
so i changed my support country to istanbul/turkey..
they are better then them..
but still all problems same..
i completely format the hard drive, all partitions, install everything from ground zero.. only microsoft updates and dell update utility suggested updates..
i installed all bios updates, firmware updates etc.. freezing problem is more less now..
i am using an undervoltage application, so it helps a little bit for overheating.. but still it exists..
i suggest you to sell this laptop and buy an lenovo x1 carbon or x1 extreme gen 2.. i will do the same..
What is the under-voltage application you are using? Have you uninstalled the under voltage application? Run the Dell diagnostics on the computer to see what that shows. To run the diags follow the information below.
Start the computer and tap the F12 key. Choose ePSA DIAGS. Also, connect your computer the support assist app and have the system checked and issues resolved. To verify if SupportAssist is installed, perform the following:
Click Start to open the programs menu.
Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
In the list of programs, verify if Dell SupportAssist is present.
If the program is not installed click here for information to install the Support Assist app.
what you can do, completely format the hard drive, delete all recover partitions, install windows 10 version 1903 (1909 preferred). just install normal windows updates, then install dell update utility, install updates that dell update found.. most of the freezing problem will be solved (still have freezing 1-2 times per week)
overheating still exists..
flickering still exists (i cant work with flickering so i am started using external monitor and TB16 dock)

Thank you for providing the information. I understand you should have already tried the updates on the system. However, I would request you to try the following steps.
1. Does updating the wireless drivers and wireless application from https://dell.to/34DcMeI and https://dell.to/2Vclwpg makes any difference?
2. Is the BIOS up to date? If not can you update it to the lastest?
3. Is the freezing irrespective of the AC adapter plugged and unplugged?
4. Does updating the video drivers to latest makes any difference? ^MP
