I have the exact same issue with my 9310 2-in-1 running Windows.
Fingerprint reader works after reboot, but then stops working after a couple sleep cycles. The device manager doesnt show the reader when it isnt working. It seems to just disconnect completely from the software's perspective.
Would love to get a fix for this Dell. I spent too much money on this laptop to not get any support. This issue has been open for over a year!!! @DELL-Cares

Hi, did you get a solution. I have the same problem. Recently seems to have stopped working, no matter how I place my finger.

Same here. After shutdown -> power up it works. They after some sleep cycles it stops working.

Reinstall the Control vault driver, update bios from here.
Also, update Windows.
