XPS 9310 - really hope this BIOS update solves my problems
Got my boss to spring for my beautiful new XPS 9310. Unfortunately the initial experience with this unit has not been good, quite a number of issues including black screen of death, battery discharging while closed, significant heating during a stuck windows update and a bizarre full screen red green blue white alternating solid color. Just updated the BIOS to the new 1.1.4, which was flagged as urgent and resolves a number of unspecified issues. Since then so far so good.
Because this unit was preconfigured for quick shipping, I'm assuming the BIOS is updated for new builds. But it seems like the problems necessitating this urgent update may be severe enough that they should probably open the boxes for these preassembled units and update them before shipping to customers.
If this update doesn't solve my problems, it's going to need to go back.

Had many of your similar issues - some improvement with actually removing the bloatware from Dell - especially Support Assist - my laptop randomly restarts into some check/screening mode for issues
My biggest gripe is still the Bluetooth lag with my MX Master 3
You need to use HIBERNATE instead of SLEEP - configure this in Power Settings.
During sleep mode - my battery completely depletes and requires the charging cable plugged in.

No action is needed at present, the BIOS update appears to have corrected the trouble I was encountering. I will advise if that changes.

* Run the pre-Windows ePSA diagnostics to check for any hardware failures
* Keep the AC power adapter connected to the Laptop during the test
* Click No when prompted for the extended memory test
* If you see any errors, capture the images and post them out here

Just had one of these random restarts, claimed there was a memory exception but the scan didn't detect anything. I'm talking to support now, apparently in the BIOS log it indicates the update was not successful.
Getting annoyed! Was really hoping for a happy trip back to windows after 10 years on a mac. Bought XPS to avoid problems not debug new hardware.
