My Bluetooth still seems to be working, even after the 1903 Win 10 upgrade.
When a device disappears in the Device Manager, it usually means the system is not seeing it during boot. If may be failing or the system isn't recognizing it for some reason.
One thing I try is to turn the device off in the Bios and boot several times without it. Perhaps it will be seen correctly after that.
If that doesn't help and you can see the device in Device Manager, then I download the Bluetooth driver and go off line and uninstall the device and check the box to uninstall all drivers. Then install the new driver and only go back online after that completes. Since the Wi-Fi card may also be involved, doing both re-installs may be best.
If you can't see the device in Device Manager, you may see an instance of the device if you set the view to show hidden devices. It is shows up then and greyed out it means the device is not currently connected. You can uninstall these instances also.
Hopefully, the device is OK and will straighten out after some specific update or even a Bios update or reset to default values.
I am currently running the Wi-Fi adapter with driver version 20.70.0.5 and the Bluetooth with 20.70.1.1.
I am having the exact same issues you are describing. Tried every possible driver, unorthodox fixes including reg hacks and toggling BT in bios and rolling back bios to a previous version with no luck. Windows simply doesn't recognise the BT hardware device, but shows up as an existing hidden device in dev mgr when showing hidden devices.
Dell support are useless and I'm sick of running diagnostics with no resolution in sight. This is clearly an issue for many people and no public or at least that I'm aware of fix in place.
Pretty disappointing as you pay good money for a notebook with functionality built in that doesn't work.
Come on Dell fix the issue, I'm seriously never buying Dell again!
@OliverK73Is this a newer 9365 with the 8th generation processor?
Does your Wi-Fi work normally?
If a device shows as a hidden device then it is basically disconnected. The Bios is not seeing it during the boot process. It may have failed or the UEFI Bios my be ignoring it for some reason. If you can disable the Bluetooth in the Bios and reboot a couple of times, it may come back.
You might even try turning on and off Airplane mode..
I don't know if uninstalling the greyed out device in the Device Manager would help, but it should not hurt although you will have to reinstall the drivers if it comes back.
WiFi works perfectly and the only issue with my XPS is the Bluetooth connectivity. Check it in the BIOS and it is present and accounted for but Windows fails to see it. I too have tried all the tricks listed above and then some but the results are always the same: no Bluetooth.
Was this ever fixed/addressed? I am having the exact same issues (xps 9365) and have done everything I can (device manager, toggling on and off bluetooth from bios, starting bluetooth services, reinstalling drivers, running diagnostics in Windows and using the bios) short of reinstalling Windows (w/c was the final suggestion I was given). Bluetooth does not simply appear anymore, despite everything done. There must be a simple fix to this!

Yes. They ended up replacing the motherboard since the module is soldered to it and not replacable by itself.
