XPS 9570 1TB Toshiba NVMe upgrade to 2TB NVMe

Has anyone successfully done this?  If so, what 2TB NVMe drive did you use?  I tried it with a 2TB Sabrent  but can't make it work. I tried cloning but apparently the 2TB drive uses 4096 bit sectors and the 1TB Toshiba uses 512 bit sectors. I tried to restore an image using Macrium Reflect but got the same error. I even tried a clean install of Win10 with no success,  I know the 2TB drive is OK because I can use it just fine in an external USB-C enclosure.  Anyone have any ideas?

All,

* Below are the only 2TB SSD that Dell validated/tested on the XPS 15-9570 =

H3GWX 2TB, Samsung PM981, M.2, NVMe, PCIe-34, 80S3, 22mm/80mm/2.38mm

MGHFP 2TB, Toshiba XG5, M.2, NVMe, PCIe-34, 80S3, 22mm/80mm/2.23mm

Did you ever get this to work?

The short answer--no.  Not entirely sure why!

I was able to successfully clone my 1TB Toshiba drive to a MGHFP 2TB Toshiba XG5, M.2, NVMe, PCIe-34, 80S3, 22mm/80mm/2.23mm  per your recommendation!  Apparently, the 2TB XG5 uses 512 bit sectors as does the 1TB Toshiba.  I think that must be the key to doing this successfully.  The Sabrent 2TB Rocket uses 4096 bit sectors.  Apparently there isn't any standardization for these 2TB NVMe drives.

I have xps 9550.  Have a 2.5 inch 250gb ssd that is samsung and sata i believe.  Also have a 32gb m.2 ssd that came with it.

If i get a samsung evo 970, can i clone my 2.5 inch 250gb ssd samsung sata into the evo 970?  Im planning to remove those 2 ssds and put in one m.2 ssd.

I have tried the Seagate Firecuda 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD and it did not work. I checked its specs and it also has 512  byte sector. Upon installation, the XPS 15 was able to recognize the SSD. During installation of Window 10, however, it stopped. After which, the SSD is not recognized by the BIOS anymore. We thought that the SSD may be defective and already asked for replacement. With the new (replacement) SSD, however, same thing happened. Any thoughts on this?

OK so I have done this on my 9550 and recently on my 7590...

On the 9550 I tried the Sabrent 2TB, but it failed because it only allows 4,096 sector sizes and my Samsung SM951 had something different. I sent back to Amazon and used the Addlink 2TB 3,500/3,000. Worked fine.

...on the 7590 I cloned from a Micron 1TB, which was at 4,096 to my Addlink 2TB and worked fine (but I had to change SATA type from RAID to AHCI again as I did for 9550)

I used Acronis which I have used for years.... Old disk in NVME caddy attached via USB C, and new disk into Laptop,... You have to turn Bitlocker off as well and wait for it to unencrypt (Do this in your laptop first or it will take HOURS !!) Remember to keep your Bitlocker Keys safe, and re-enable it after upgrading
