XPS 9575 w/ Premium Active Pen & WinTab versus Windows Ink

I am sharing here fixes to issues I have run into with using the Premium Active Pen on the XPS 9575. When trying to use the pen in the open source software Krita, the brushes just would not work correctly.  That is until I turn on Windows Ink instead of WinTab.  Settings > Configure Krita > Tablet Settings choose 'Windows 8+ Pointer Input'.  With that setting things seem to work fine. When using Expresii  when I first got the laptop, the pen input worked without a hitch.  But about a week ago I had problems with getting the brushes to work.  This happened at about the same time as three things changed on the laptop. 1. I updated the 9575 BIOS to solve the fan blowing issues 2. a Windows 10 update was pushed to the laptop 3. expresii had a version update.  So the problem may be a manifestation of one or a combination of these.  But the consequence is that the Wacom driver interface with the software is broken.  More options/System Settings > Input choose Windows Ink.  Changing the pen input to Windows Ink allowed me to use the pen in the software again with tilt and all. The recurring theme here is that WinTab (the Wacom pen driver) doesn't seem to work so well.  And, since there is not a supplied WinTab driver from Dell that I can find, the best fallback is to choose Windows Ink if your preferred software has the option.  I have tried installing Wacom's driver as posted on their website, but this has not solved the issues from the WinTab perspective.  Although the digitizer in the 9575 is Wacom technology I have not had good experience getting Wacom based driver input to work.
