I contacted Dell Support again, and they have sent me some older versions of Realtek Drivers. In particular: Realtek-Audio-Driver_517YN_WIN_10.0.66.187_A03.

Surprisingly, the system works fine now. I will observe it for a couple of days.

This problem still has not been addressed by Dell Support till now. Premium support does not help. This is hugely frustrating because I cannot use this professional-grade device to do my work...

I have already tired of doing countless rounds of troubleshooting which Dell requires every time I call them. Did somebody have any success with this issue?

Unbelievable, this is so tiresome.

I have indeed read the thread and even attempted to alert Dell Support about it. However, they have stated that the issue mentioned pertains to the 9520 and NOT 9720, and thus, will be handled as individual cases. Of course, my issue has not been resolved.

Changing the motherboard and audio daughterboard did not help either. Which of course might indicate some fundamental flaw in the design

It is, indeed.

I am now convinced that the entire second-generation XPS line-up is flawed (I am not sure about 9320).

I have accepted this as a solution. I belive Dell should release the updated driver soon tool.
