XPS M1330 optical drive not detected after replacing the motherboard

Hi,

I had to replace the motherboard on my dell XPS M1330 and after replacing the motherboard when I boot the laptop I noticed the optical drive is not detected. It is running Windows 10 already. When I boot into BIOS it says "none" for fixed bay device. The optical drive was working before I replaced the motherboard. Did I not connect the optical drive connector properly while assembling the laptop? Can you provide me some insights?

Thank you

Hello all,

I think I made some progress. I removed the optical drive and cleaned the connector and socket on the optical drive where the connector is connected. When I booted the laptop this time I could hear the optical drive spinning (it didn't spin before at all). When I tried to insert a CD, the drive accepted it this time. But the drive is still not detected in the BIOS nor in the OS. What does that suggest you? Do I have to update the BIOS?
