did you try to check the monitor refresh rate? Type "refresh rate" into the search bar, and then click on View Advanced Display Info. From there, click on Display Adapter Properties For Display 1. From there click the middle tab, titled Monitor, in the properties window that appears and you'll see an area to set the refresh rate. To check the exact rate for your model check on the DELL webpage.
Many thanks for your response !!! Checked out refresh rate as you suggested and all appears to be in order ! The display is set at 60Mhz which appears to be an industry standard ! and this matches the GPU ?? A real mystery ! all works fine when windows is loaded and a basic Microsoft adapter is loaded but as soon you load the Nvidia driver the problem surfaces, must have tried at leas5 different drivers recommended by Nvidia and other users ?? Everything runs smoothly on Window 7 so I guess it must be a software issue ? will keep trying, thanks again for the suggestion !

You can use these drivers 100% Safe, downloaded them on my XPS M1710 and the graphics are fine.
