XPS Touchpad stopped clicking
I have an XPS 9520. Yesterday, out of nowhere, the bottom right and left sections of the touchpad stopped literally clicking. The touchpad still works, and if I tap the relevant sections the functionality works. The corners of the touchpad don't depress much, and they certainly don't have the "click" sound or sensation. It is driving me batty.
I tried turning on and off the touchpad in the device manager. I tried updating both the HID-compliant touchpad driver (in the human interface section) and the HID-compliant mouse driver. Neither solution worked.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Remove the base cover and check the condition of the battery. It is just below the touchpad, and it's very common that the first sign of a battery starting to swell is resistance in the touchpad.
If the battery is swelling, remove it, dispose of it and replace it immediately.
