XPS screen brightness dilemma
XPS 15 9520
Recently found this paper dell-xps_15_9520_reviewers_guide-3-30-22.pdf
Page 10 says:
15.6-inch 4K UHD+ (3840x2400) InfinityEdge touch display; 500 -nit
15.6-inch FHD+ (1920 x 1200) InfinityEdgedisplay; 500-nits,
But page 11 explains testing environment and for each model mentioned display brightness set to 150 nits (40%)
if brightness is linear then 100% should be 375 nits, not 500 as advertised! Any thoughts?

You are assuming that the brightness is adjusted linearly. Also, sometimes max/peak brightness is for a limited time or in limited settings/scenarios. I should clarify I am not Dell to tell you their testing methodologies

Yeah I'm not Dell so I cannot give you an answer which I can guarantee to be true.
