XPS15 9570 Colour Calibration - Photography
Hi all,
New to the forum - I'm tearing my hair out trying to calibrate my screen for consistent colours for photography (I'm using a Dell XPS 15 9570 with Intel UHD screen).
I got a screen calibrator (X-rite i1 display pro) as I was finding that my images were looking different on different outputs - other screens and printing. Worst of all - I was finding that colours inside adobe lightroom were different to those shown on window image previewer and when shown on a web-browser - on the same machine.
I calibrated my screen using the X-rite with DisplayCal and I am still suffering with the issue that lightroom colours varies (it's desaturated in Lightroom) to other programs on my Dell. I'm aware (from my limited knowledge on this subject) that Lightroom is colour-managed but I have no clue in the world on how to line up Lightroom colours with system colours and printing colours. Anyone have a solution? (an-easy-to-understand-layman's-terms-answer)
I am aware there are multiple factors at play on my laptop for managing colours - there's Dell Premier Color (no idea what this does), Intel Graphics Control Panel and Windows Display Settings. Not a clue how they relate to each other and what the hierarchy of information is - and how this relates to my DisplayCal profile (which is now my profile on windows display settings).
This might be asking a lot - can any kind soul break this down nice and simple for me?
Thanks!

dukey5,
You can respond to this site if you are replying to the other posters. If you have any questions you will need to post your system service tag as well as your issue.

Hi Raini:
I have the similar problem, and I think it have to do with color management. Lightroom is color managed, but the Windows OS is not.
I think by setting the default color profile to the sRGB file that came with the system would make colors the same. But that is the un-calibrated file therefore might not be accurate...
Or you can go to Lightroom and change the color profile to the one you are using as system default - I'm not very familiar with Lightroom but I think that's something you can do.
Good luck!

I have this exact same issue!! I have tried so many things! My screen looks great after calibration with my SpyderX pro, but lightroom is desaturated! I have so much regret buying this laptop instead of going with an imac I have called Dell customer care and they just said "user error". Sure.. but can anyone help?!! Please let me know if you had any luck fixing it, I have a few sessions I need to edit asap
