XPS 15 9550, touchpad can be removed from palmrest faceplate?

I have a XPS 15 9550 with 4K, i7-6700HQ. Unfortunately, my left hinge mount is broken. it looks like I need a palm rest front plate change. As I'm out of warranty, I want to buy an an OEM palm rest (0D6CWH). The problem is many oem palm rests do not have a touchpad attached. Before going further purchasing one, I want to learn if touchpad can be removed from the original palmrest.

There is no guide about remvoing touchpad on dell service manuals and anywhere on the internet, and every guide about touchpad repair suggests that I have to replace the palm rest all together. I started to think that touchpad is very hard (or impossible) to remove from attached palmrest.

TLDR;

is it possible to remove touchpad from the original palmrest front plate and carry it over an OEM palmrest front plate from china? Or do I have to buy an palmrest with touchpad attached?

The touchpad can be removed, 2 screws attach it to the palmrest. The following links should help. Read the comments on the Youtube video.
