normal to have 50% RAM usage with 8 taps open in a browser ?
I got a new XPS 15 with 16GB RAM, but i got 50% RAM usage when i open task manager, with only 8 taps of Microsoft Edge using around 1gb ram, i also got two other apps opened but the sum of the two is only 100mb ram, is it normal?

Thank you for your message. Yes, the system using half the memory initially is normal. There will be multiple process & updates running in the background which will be using up the memory.
Run a hardware diagnostic by following the video link & check if there is an error.
Is the disc usage high when you are trying to browse?
For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Sreejith R) & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.

That's not totally crazy. Check the Details tab of Task Manager, which will show background processes, including processes running under other accounts. You can sort the list by the amount of memory being used. See if anything jumps out at you. The only time I've seen memory included in the total shown under the Performance tab but not accounted for under Details is when running Hyper-V VMs, because they obviously consume memory but they're not processes running within the host OS; they're completely separate environments.

I checked into the task manager, the browser consumes the most of the ram, about 1gb, along with two other apps I opened, but the total of the 3 only sum to 1.7 gb, while the ram usage shown under performance tab is almost 8 gb.
I do got many processes running in the background though, Windows process and Background process got 90 each, but there is no way these 180 processes can sum up to the rest of 6gb.
