Thank you for responding. I appreciate you your help. I was having a bad day and ended up reinstalling windows. The sharing password protection seems to be working now. I didn't want you to think I was blowing off your helpful suggestions. I'll see what happens now.

Have you cleared the password of your Guest account and still couldn't turn on password protection sharing?
Try to clear Windows Credentials.
