Respawn wont boot

I am the proud owner of a new M17xR3 and the first thing i did when I got it set up was make a recovery usb stick.  I then tried to boot it from the usb to make sure everything worked and much to my surprise it wouldnt boot.  I then restarted the computer and made a recovery disk using DVDs again i tried to boot with the disks and again it wouldnt boot.  I hit F12 to go to the boot settings and set it to USB and DVD drive and it didnt work either way.  What am i doing wrong.  It keeps saying i am missing a certain file and to insert my windows disk.  Any help, please!
