Worst Customer Care on the Planet
I was excited to receive my Dell XPS 13 and have it set up.
Now I look at my invoice (which I admittedly should have done after submitting the order but I had confidence, they wouldn't do something that badly wrong.)
I see TWO things that I don't recall picking : a McAfee 12 month subscription for 43.92. (There's no way I would pick this because I already have a subscription for Norton) and an ONsite/In-Home Service for a year (I don't remember selecting this either but I don't have a "Norton" example to back this up. So chalk that down to stupidity on my part. But I figure I'd ask since I'm asking about the McAfee anyways.)
So I look at the online chat from the order and pick the "Change my order" (or equivalent) selection and talk to person A who at one point in the conversation seems to take back everything he said and says, "I would request you to please contact our Sales Team at 1-800-289-3355 Monday through Sunday 8:00 AM CST to 9:00 PM CST to assist you on this matter. " I'm a little ticked off already since I already waited for Monday since chat was not available over the weekend. But I get over it.
I call the number. THIS TIME, I don't get told the wait time and I'm asked if I want a call back. I assume it's not long so I decline the call back and choose to wait. I NEVER get asked for that call back option again after I have been told that the wait is 15 minutes. So I hung it up again and wait since they're not going to call back.
I finally speak to a human being (Person B) after 25 minutes (not a typo). Lots of hold time even during that conversation and then I get told I need to talk to someone else.
So, I'm transferred to someone else (Person C) - ostensibly still in the same department. Again I explain the scenario and he says I need to speak to tech support (no clue why but whatever).
Person C says I need to talk to tech support Person D. So I'm transferred again and Person D in tech support tells me I should talk to customer support. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What the !!!! It's already been 40 some minutes on the phone on a Monday.
So after giving him a significant amount of my frustration dump (although as I tell him many times in the conversation, I realize it's not his fault) I give in.
He (person D) then transfers me and guess what - there's that 15 minute wait again. By this time I've been on the phone for 45 minutes and before that on the chat for 15 minutes. So I give up and disconnect.
Way to go! Another satisfied customer, Dell !!!!!!!. 60 MINUTES of my weekend time to speak to someone who has a clue about $43.92 on my invoice !!! It's not worth my time and I suspect you know that if you run me around for long enough I'll give up and just take the punishment.
1 person also has this problem
