Zero Accountability

I ordered an Alienware desktop in August after waiting 5 weeks for it to arrive I had immediate issues. Dell sent a tech to replace the parts, which unknown to me are refurbished parts ( nice way of saying used ). the mother board and graphics card was replaced.

The system would then not update and another tech was sent out to replace the motherboard once again. He informed me that the last tech broke a part of the HDD which I used as a backup for my photography business and my school work. All the information was lost and DELL essentially took zero responsibility and said there is nothing they could do. ( services to recover this data are between 1-2k )

After the tech was finished the system would not start at all and he said he had another appointment and had to leave. I called the online support and they had me open the system to remove to CMOS battery to try and reset it. When he was directing me I noticed a screw missing from the case which ended up being inside the Video Card.

After this 3 week process DELL said I can have the PC repaired again or given a new PC which would take 5 more weeks. At this point they were going to replace the mother board, video card, HDD and power supply unit which essentially makes the computer used with so many refurbished parts. I did not buy a refurbished computer if a part breaks and it is under warranty you replace it with a new part period. Asking a customer to wait 5 weeks after they have already waited 8 weeks is unacceptable.

I ultimately decided to just get a new PC, I need it for school and my business and the wait time has affected me greatly already but I had no choice. I called back 2 weeks later to check the progress and I was told they had not actually even made the request yet and were "looking for parts"

I don't even know what to do at this point. The customer service is an absolute joke and have done nothing to assist me properly.

Update it is now December 14th and I still do not have my replacement system. I called last week and was told it was delivered and after a week of waiting I called back and was told my address was flagged as fraudulent. Yes the very same address that the initial system was delivered to. So at this point I have been waiting over 5 months for a working computer all while making payments.... just a joke I don't even know what to do anymore.

Yet another update..... after getting my new system I had random crashes, kernel power errors. It didn't happen enough to bother me until last week it started happening daily. I called and had them remote connect and after trying to update the BIOS my system was stuck on a recovery loop but didn't actually let me select anything. So now for the second time in 6 months I have lost all of my information as the mother board and SSD need to be replaced. I was initially told I would have a technician out Monday (today) to complete repairs. After not hearing from anybody I checked the website and saw that my part was delayed and might be in next Monday and they will let me know. At this point I have had a broken computer more than I have had a working one. It seems every time I or the support team try to update the BIOS the system breaks, anybody else have this issue?, is there just an issue with the hardware and the BIOS? at this point I am on my second system, 2nd SSD, 3rd video card and 4th motherboard in 6 months. I have asked for some type of compensation for the lost time and information and was told that was not going to happen, basically as the original title states zero accountability.

Further update. Still having issues and the only reason I am somewhat sane still is the agent I have been dealing with for the last few calls, Richard Alejandro Nunez, give this man a promotion. Anyways to the actual issues. After the crashes they said a tech would come with a card reader back up my data and put it on the new system when they replaced the motherboard and SSD. Ya no surprise the tech had no idea what they were talking about and said they didn't do data transfers so after waiting 10 days to get the system fixed I had to buy a card reader and do the transfer myself. Dell told me they would not be reimbursing me for the reader. After merely 5 days of the new motherboard and SSD with a fresh copy of Windows the crashes continue to happen. This is now 9 months without a properly working computer, 5 motherboard replacements, 3 video card replacements, 1 HDD and 1 SSD replacement and one complete data loss and one complete system replacement. I would also like to note that during this entire time I have been making payments on a system that doesn't work properly or that I have not had at all, and my warranty is running out, when the system was deemed faulty and replaced my warranty should have been extended automatically, otherwise the company can just outwait people till the warranty runs out and people are stuck with faulty merchandise.

    extremely disappointed.

Got a call back from a manager today that said the data being lost was my fault for not backing up my info even though the drive broken was a backup and broken by a Dell technician. But do be aware that DELL does not cover data loss which he was very quick to point out. I give up at this point, I guess you win DELL but I certainly will never buy or recommend any DELL products in the future.
