I've been on the phone all day with dell, logitech, and creative... dell bounced me around me a lot and refuses to address the problem.  They don't want to pay for a new sound card, and they are unable to fix the problem technically.  Strange thing is, I find it extremely difficult to believe that I am the only one with this problem... they act like I'm the first person to have this problem.  Here it goes:

My Dimension XPS came with Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card.  I purchased Logitech's z680 speakers.  I'm trying to enable the digital 5.1 surround sound.  Trouble is, the button I need to disable the sound card's decoder (so that my logitech speakers can decode the sound), is missing... it simply is not there!  In the retail version of the sound card, the button is there.  So Logitech and Creative's best guess is that Dell is using a stripped version of the sound card, a version that does not include the darn button I need to disable the soundcard's decoder. 

Surely I can't be the only person with an audigy 2 soundcard from dell and a set of logitech z-680 speakers (especially since dell sold me both of these things).  Has anyone out there found a way to enable 5.1 surround with this set up?  Or am I going to have to go buy a retail version of the darn soundcard and install it just so I can get the sound I paid dell for already?  Whatta pain. ;)
