Driver Problems
Ok, here's my problem. My friend's computer was having really bad virus problems and I told him he should just wipe the harddrive, deleting the partition and re-creating it, thus deleting the OS. He had no idea what I was talking about so I typed out instructions, but told him he HAD to use the Windows XP installation CD that came with his computer, because it had the drivers he would need. Well, he couldn't find his CD so he borrowed one from a friend that said it would work with any Dell. That wasn't the case. Now my friend is missing the drivers for: Ethernet Controller, PCI Device, SM Bus Controller, Video Controller, and Video Controller (VGA compatible). I know you can download drivers from the Dell website but I have tried a couple and none of them have worked... I didn't know if you would be able to help me. He owns a Dimension 5150.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!!
