My CPU usage runs from 30-70% when Sound Blaster Live is installed.

As soon as I uninstall Sound Blaster, the CPU usage goes back to normal (0-2%). I've tried installing the drivers only and get the same problem.

My computer has no viruses or Trojans - I just reformatted and reinstalled everything; I've also run many virus/Trojan programs to make sure. I've tried installing/uninstalling SB Live several times, and always get the same result.

My computer was sluggish before I did the reformat/reinstallation, but I never thought to check the CPU usage.

Is this a common problem with Sound Blaster Live? Is there any work-around?
