NEED SERIOUS HELP!
I know this is a long post but PLEASE READ!!!
My friend has a dimension 4550 I think. Anyways I am posting for him cuase he dosen't have a computer to use. This is his problem. A couple days ago someone pointed out to him that almost all his hard disk space was gone. Then he said that about 10-20 min into logging onto his computer his screen would turn black, and his monitor light would turn orange like it wasn't recieving a display. I told him he should get rid of programs he doesn't need to free up his space, so he began and after he removed the 2nd program which was a game (America's Army) his screen went black AGAIN! He restarted the computer and now about 5 min after logging in, his monitor would go black. Soon it became less and less and now he recieves NO DISPLAY AT ALL!. The starting screen saying dell will not even come up, it stays black always. We have checked the monitor and it's in perfect condition. I myself have opened the case and made sure that everything was connected to the right port (Everything is connected right). However this is has fixed his problem. When he presses the power button on his computer the light will come on green, you can hear the hard drive spin a little bit but then NOTHING. It's silent and only the fan of the computer is blowing. Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong weather or not he needs a new part, or his entire computer is bust.
His computer setup for the most part.
Dimension 4550
Win XP Pro
P4 at 2.0ghz
Nvidia 64mb Video card with TV out
Integrated sound
Maxtor 40gig hard drive
