I have an Inspiron 4150, when it's on battery power a full charge battery will drain within 5 minutes.  It will not operate on the AC power jack, but everything works fine when its on the docking station, the batteries do charge back up.  I have a second inspiron and extra AC adapters.  I've switched batteries and AC adapters around and they work fine with the second machine.  Any ideas would be appreciated.
