My Studio 1557 sometimes fails to boot. When turning on the power, there is only black screen and the speaker has 6 equal-length short beeps, with following features:

(1) Once this happened, I need to remove the battery and the AC power and wait for one minute before I can successfully boot again.

(2) This is not related to over-heating. Because it also happens when the computer is completely cool. 

(3) On Windows 7 or vista, this problem usually happens either after the system is shut down abnormally, or I try to boot from USB or CD. 

(4) On Linux (I tried the latest versions of Ubuntu, opensuse and arch linux), this problem happens very frequently (about once in two or three times) after normal reboot. 

(5) Before updating the BIOS, i.e. when I was using BIOS A02, the beep code is long-short-short, instead of 6 short beeps, but all other features are the same. But no version of BIOS is free of this problem.
