I have a user with an E5400 that has an odd issue.  She can boot up in the dock and work all day just fine, but if she undocks and goes to a meeting, then comes back and puts the machine into the dock, the display never comes back.  She doesn't use dual display, but closes the lid and puts it in the dock.  Now normally the external 17" LCD would come on within a few seconds, but hers doesn't.  Also, if we open the lid of the laptop it is off as well.  I've tried playing with the Function-F8 to toggle between displays which doesn't work.  I've then undocked hoping the display would come back.  It doesn't.  The only thing we can do is hold down the power button to power down and then restart the unit.

I can replicate this issue every single time we try to hot dock this unit.  I called Dell support and was told to update the BIOS, which I did.  It was at A12 and is now at A15.  I reset all BIOS settings and booted back up.  The issue remains.

This is a new install and there are no issue in Device Manager.
