hello,

i have just bought an inspiron 6400 superior and when today i tried to record vocals i had to face that the mic is set to mute and hence i cannot hear myself on headphones while recording.
i've searched the forum to realise that there are quite some issues with the mixer. i downloaded the programme total recorder but i'm not sure if it's any help in this case because people seem to record streaming audio with it only.

is there any way i can change this without buying an external soundcard?
