I've bought Dell Vostro 3300 laptop recently. It has Nvidia GF 310M VGA Card and Intel Core i5 480m processor onboard.

It was claimed that this laptop can switch between Nvidia GF310 and Core i5 Intel HD GMA

I'm running on Win 7 Ultimate 64bit OS and I have only one VGA in Device Manager - GF310m

I read that other owners can't install new nvidia drivers and turn off intel GMA, but i have opposite problem, i can not turn on and even see Intel GMA anywhere though I've installed all drivers and I can install latest Nvidia Drivers (266.58_notebook_winvista_win7_64bit_international_whql) but i can't install Nvidia Switchable (which proposed by dell)

It's important for me because I often need long work only on battery and Intel GMA power consumption is much lesser then GF 310M. I even bought more expensive model with more powerful CPU and this GeForce, because it was available with 8 cell battery. Though I can turn off Nvidia Card in Device manager, and after 2 sec of black screen, something continues to display picture on the screen. I think it's Intel GMA but the picture is a bit fusy and graphic performance is really awful (Something like safe VGA Drivers)

Bios version is A10 and there is no any Hybrid Graphic options there.

So how can I use Intel GMA?

And another question to community: What is the situation with drivers on Linux-based OS like Ubuntu?
