I was going to upgrade my work set up and I would like to add a 2nd monitor.

I already have a Dell P2418 working smoothly on DP input. Unfortunately, I don't have a 2nd DP out port but just a VGA out port on my HP Prodesk 400 G3 - i5 with integrated graphic card intel HD 530. To extend my desktop on the P2421, I used a VGA to HDMI adapter but it doesn't seem to work, the message displayed say: "no HDMI signal".

VGA is working fine if I use a display equipped with VGA out port.

I tried two different kind of adapters with the same results (adapters brand new and from different manufacturers).

I had no clue on how make it work, someone of you might have.
