U2410, ceased stand release button

The U2410 monitor is normally released from its stand by pushing a plastic button located under the fitting plate of the monitor stand. Unfortunately, mine is ceased up and the locking mechanism does not move freely. I have tried some silicon based lubricant to no avail. Has anybody had similar problems with the monitor, and any advice on how best to proceed?

Dell has never repaired or replaced monitor stands. For this 13 year old model, consider checking eBay for a user selling the stand.

Hi Chris,

thank you for the advice. However, the mechanism in question is located within the monitor unit itself, and simply serves to lock the stand's fixing plate in place. I will have to get this to work again to be able to effectively use the monitor.
