I have downloaded the latest drivers for my inspiron 6400 to resolve the wireless networking connectivity issues that i had. However things just arent happening as they should! The files successfully self extracted (i think) and then i typed in the correct file location in the "open" box and clicked on the setup file. This then opens for a minute then closes again without doing anything. Now i have nothing whatsoever and am completely stuck. The pro set wireless icon has dissapeared from the toolbar on the bottom right of the screen and rolling back to the previous driver has not helped either. The troubleshooter says the device is working properly and i cant seem to bget windows to take care of the network management either.

 

Help, advice, commiserations etc would be much greatly appreciated in the most simple terms possible!
