RAID 1 without a Hot Spare

 

Perc4/SC Controller 0, Array Disk 0:1 reported predictive failure.

 

The drive is:

Seagate ST336607LW
33.87GB
320MB/sec
SCSI

 

2 Questions:

#1  Since I can no longer find that size drive is it OK to replace with a larger drive and just have unused space?

 

#2 Should I add the replacement drive in as a hot spare before removing the bad drive or should I mark the bad drive offline, pull it and the insert the new drive?
